19 months after my son was born, I am still wearing the clothes that I bought just after he was born. I have a box in storage with the clothes I was wearing pre pregnancy and am ready to pull them out again.
Background: I have a medical condition called hypothyroidism that, if not properly controlled, will cause me to gain weight, be low on energy, and basically make it difficult to get through the day sometimes. Three months before I found out I was pregnant, I ran out of medication and was unable to get more and because of that, I gained 70 pounds. I gained 40 more during the pregnancy and retained 10 of that.
I have gallstones as well and lately have just not physically felt well. I am currently on my medication, which should have helped me gradually start to lose weight, which I was doing up until recently, and have found that I am gaining weight again.
At 242 pounds, I am tired of being overweight, tired of not being able to fit into my clothes, and most of all, tired of being tired. Tomorrow, I start running. My project: I am going to start running, slowly, at first, and work my way up to being able to run 5 miles without stopping to rest and, hopefully, run it in under an hour.
Wish me luck!
